Growing up in a small community, where everyone knew you and watched out for you, taught me about belonging and giving back to others.

In 1995 I became active in my neighborhood Homeowner's Association and a member of the Council of Neighbors and Organizations (CONO). I was President of CONO from 1999 until October 2006. During my tenure I served on many committees with the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso County and became proficient in Land Use and Development issues, representing neighborhoods and concerned citizens.

When Citizen's Outreach Group (COG) for the El Paso County was formed the first project was a Citizen's College to educate the public about El Paso County government. I was one of eleven charter members of the COG and helped to plan and promote the Citizen's College.

I continue to be active in many city and county boards and commissions. My passion is public process and helping people understand the process so that they can participate and be successful.

Serving God, family and community, in that order, is my path in life.
