Community Coordinator - District 1 or 2

Community Coordinator Job Description

About Cono

At Cono, we believe vibrant neighborhoods are built on strong relationships, inclusive engagement, and a shared commitment to positive change. Our vision is simple: we want everyone to love their neighborhood. We inspire and empower neighbors to create thriving communities across the Pikes Peak Region through collaboration, optimism, and solution-oriented action.

As a Community Coordinator at Cono, you will be a key connector between neighbors, city officials, and community organizations. Your role is to foster meaningful relationships, amplify neighborhood voices, and help create spaces where everyone feels heard and valued. If you’re passionate about community-building, love engaging with people, and excel at navigating diverse perspectives, this role is for you.

Impact & Key Outcomes

As a Community Coordinator, you will:

  • Strengthen Community Networks: Cultivate relationships with neighbors, associations, and local organizations to enhance connectivity and collaboration.

  • Bridge Communication Gaps: Serve as a non-partisan liaison between neighbors and city officials, ensuring transparent, two-way communication about local needs and initiatives.

  • Empower Neighborhood Leaders: Identify, inspire, and support volunteer Cono Neighborhood Leaders to drive grassroots efforts and foster civic engagement.

  • Drive Community Participation: Promote Cono’s mission and programs, encouraging neighbors to take an active role in shaping their communities.

  • Champion Inclusive Engagement: Ensure diverse voices are represented and create welcoming spaces where all community members feel heard and valued.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted and neutral resource for neighbors seeking support and guidance to implement positive change in their communities.

  • Proactively engage with residents, city officials, and community stakeholders to understand emerging trends, concerns, and opportunities.

  • Direct city officials and staff to Cono Neighborhood Leaders when citizen input is requested.

  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, fostering productive discussions and collaboration between neighbors and city leaders.

  • Assist in promoting and coordinating Cono’s flagship programs, including Neighborhood Gatherings, Neighborhood Network, and Neighborhood University.

  • Work with Cono’s marketing specialist to highlight community success stories and amplify local impact.

  • Maintain and update Cono’s neighbor database to ensure accurate and accessible information on community engagement efforts.
